MEDICAL EQUIPMENT
In order to improve the quality of care provided to sick children, Princess Margaret Hospital for Children (PMH) must keep up to date with technological and medical advances. However, the rapid advancement in technology means replacing and modernising equipment is a never-ending task and is particularly costly when treating infants, children and adolescents.
Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation aims to provide PMH with state-of-the-art equipment over and above that which is the responsibility of government funding. To date, the Foundation has funded close to a quarter of all the equipment currently used by the hospital.
Recently funded equipment includes:
Anaesthesia - Ultrasound system
Audiology - Newborn hearing equipment
Cardiology - Open heart theatre equipment
Gastroenterology - Bod Pod
Intensive Care Unit - Video bronchoscope
Neonatal Care Unit - Transport incubator and trolley
Neurology - EEG brainwave machine
Oncology - Kangaroo pumps
Operating Theatre - Surgical microscope
Cranio-Maxillo Facial Unit - Modelling system
Respiratory Medicine - Sleep studies equipment
