FAQs
What happens to my donation?
Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation works closely with hospital staff and management to ensure that funding is directed into areas most in need. Every year, the Foundation provides the hospital with more than $2 million worth of specialist equipment, services and research funding, based on a 'wish list' compiled by medical and nursing staff. The Foundation also raises funds for an annual project developed in conjunction with Princess Margaret Hospital for Children (PMH).
Isn't it the government's responsibility to fund our public hospitals?
Yes, but government funding only stretches so far. Each year the Foundation provides the hospital with state-of-the-art medical equipment and services that would not normally be available through government funding channels.
Is Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation involved with Telethon?
No. The Foundation is a separate charity and the only charity that fundraises soley for the entire hospital. Telethon divides its proceeds amongst several children's charities including PMH.
Can I decide how my donation is spent?
Yes, you can specify how you would like your donation to be spent eg, on a particular ward or department in the hospital or towards a specific piece of equipment.
